National High School Sports Analytics Summit 2024

NHSSAA organized the first national sports analytics conference for high school students on March 2, 2024, at the Boston Exhibition & Convention Center. The event featured many well known professionals and academics including keynote speeches from Daryl Morey (President & GM of the Philadelphia 76ers), Jessica Gelman (Co-founder & CEO of Kraft Analytics Group) and Nate Silver (Founder and former editor-in-chief of FiveThirtyEight). Approximately 120 students from over 40 different high schools attended. Other sessions included 5 student or student groups presenting their own research, a career panel and a case study on how to use analytics to think about defensive positioning in baseball.
